| Liberty Jail, where they were kept over 5 months in a basement room 7' x 14' wide, and about 5.5 feet tall. Most of the men were over 6' tall. There were 2 vents on each of the 4 sides. No source of heat, during one of the coldest winters on record. Miserable conditions, no privacy, a bucket for both food & waste; yet here was where several sections of the D&C were given. |
